We are a welcoming and enthusiastic society with a passion for exploring the world of art.

At the heart of our programme we organise monthly evening lectures. World experts deliver illustrated talks on a variety of topics including art and artists, architecture and buildings, social history, furniture, glassware, metalwork and jewellery, photography, textiles, ceramics, music and much more.

No prior knowledge is required or expected. The talks are designed to inform and entertain.

It’s a social event, too. We meet once a month on a Wednesday evening at Farnham College, on Morley Road. Come along early and get a friendly welcome: wine and refreshments are available from 7.15 and the talks run from 8 – 9pm, except for June and December when we start earlier and have social drinks after the lecture - see lecture page for more details.

We also organise tailor-made visits to places of interest. They range from tours of private houses and gardens, special exhibitions, galleries and other sites of historic interest, usually accompanied by a professional guide.

The Arts Society Farnham Evening is a member society of The Arts Society (TAS). As an individual member you will receive the TAS Review, a quarterly magazine containing articles on an exciting range of local and national events, courses and headlining exhibitions. It also carries details of offers and concessions available upon production of your TAS membership card. Have a browse through our new season’s lecture programme.

Visitors are always warmly welcomed.
